Inaccurate CGM Values.

1. If values are outside the range of 40-400 mg/dl (2.2-22.2 mmol/L), document if symptoms are experienced.
2. If it is outside the 20/20 rule, a second reading can verify the BG reading.
3. Calibrate and wait 15 minutes before doing another FS to verify the CGM reading. If it is outside of the 20/20 rule calibrate again. Do this 3 times, 15 minutes apart.
- Acetaminophen [uh-see-tuh-min-uh-fuhn] (also known as Paracetamol) is contraindicated over 1,000 mg in a 6 hour period.
- Hydroxyurea (also known as Hydroxycarbamide) effects accuracy. It is used in treating sickle-cell disease and cancer.
The length of time acetaminophen (paracetamol) or hydroxyurea affects performance is based on dosage and length of time since taken.
